Build a Church
Church buildings come in different styles and sizes. Often new churches start under a "hangar." There are several different types of construction. Construction costs vary from about $2000 to $12,000 for a small to average sized structure. Some are made with mud bricks, some with cement bricks and others from a locally quarried stone. Techniques of construction vary, as do lifespans for these buildings. Below are some examples of village churches. From time to time there are opportunities to build larger churches in certain towns and villages as well.
A church structure is very important culturally, as it helps to show the community that you are a legitimate religious organization- and that you are coming with the intent to stay involved in the community by investing in it and it's people! Also, people who come from a Muslim background hold having a place of worship as a high priority. Often the building of a church is a catalyst as people see the sincerity and serious intentions of the church to engage in the community.

**As always you can build a church completely or in part as you feel led and are able**
This is an all metal "hangar". The top church has added secos (woven grass mats) to give some walls. These structures are seen as a 'first step' for a churches some times. Because of the design of this hangar, brick walls can be added at a later time to "finish" the church.
Size: approx. 630 sq.ft. Cost: $2000 USD This is a church made from cement brick. Cement brick construction and local quarried stone make by far the longest lasting buildings. This church pictured is almost finished. Painting and color coat are all that remains. The cost for the cement brick or stone construction is a bit more, but well worth it in the long run. Approx. 23' x 39'. This church can hold 160 - 200 people.
Size: approx. 900 sq.ft. Cost: $6500 USD |
This is a mud brick church building with a sand and cement "stucco" coat inside and out. This is a less expensive way to build. If all construction is done well and the stucco coat is good, a building like this could last 15 - 20 years. This is a good way to start sometimes in remote villages. We do prefer the cement brick construction as it is a definitive structure with a much longer life span.
Size: 630 - 820 sq.ft. Cost: $3000 This is a slightly larger cement brick construction church. This is a great size for an established and growing church or a church in certain locations. This church will last for many years to come. Approx. 30' x 50'. This size has the capacity for 250 to 300 people.
Size: 1500 sq.ft. Cost: $11000 USD |
There are also needs for several larger churches in our area. There are currently 4 church bodies that have outgrown there current church buildings and are praying about building bigger building to accommodate their needs. These churches are most often in key hub towns. If you are interested in partnering with these local churches to expand, let us know. These are larger cement brick structures that would include an office for the pastors and some storage space for church purposes.
