Moto for Pastor Levi

Pastor Levi (white shirt) receiving moto keys

This past Sunday we had the pleasure of presenting a new moto to Pastor Levi.  Pastor Levi and his family are church planters in Bodajugu.  Bodajugu is an unreached Turka village.  When he arrived there were literally no believers.  That was two years ago.  Today there is a small, but growing church in Bodajugu.  Pastor Levi has been borrowing a very old and fable  50cc moto from his father.  He has been praying for God to provide a reliable means of transportation for he and his family for several years.  As a result of partnership with a family from the US, God has answered pastor Levi's prayers.

What a joy to see God's perfect prevision coming through brothers and sisters in Christ.  For just $900 dollars U.S. we can help a pastor and his family by purchasing a new 125cc moto.  These motos are trustworthy and last 10+ years, often many more.  Partnering with Light Up Burkina to provide a moto for pastors and church planters is a very tangible way to show our fraternity and passion to see the unreached peoples of Burkina Faso reached for Christ.  Pastors with reliable transport can minister in their surrounding areas as they evangelize and preach the gospel.

We've had churches and individual families fund these motos and we have seen the blessing and encouragement they are to these men and their families.  Will you pray about partnering with us as a family, small group or church body to provide a pastor or church planter with a new moto?  Check out the Motos for Pastors page on Light Up Burkina under the Church Partnership tab.  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  There are always pastors praying and waiting for God to provide.

Your Brother in Christ Jesus,
Aaron

Church Building in Bodajugu

Revelation 7:9

9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

Last week, our mission director John Rowell visited us in Burkina Faso and we had the opportunity to travel to the village of Bodajugu.  We were excited to see the progress being made on a church building there.  We are praising God along with our Burkinabe brothers and sisters as He has provided a church in Georgia who is partnering with Pastor Levi in this unreached village.  Through ongoing prayer support God is connecting churches on different continents for His glory.

The church below (7m x 7m) will be able to hold between 120 and 150 people.  May we see this church filled and overflowing with Turka believers!

A church building like this is appropriate in certain remote villages and can be built for about $3000 U.S. Dollars.  It is made of mud and straw bricks, then stucco coated inside and out, cement floor and finally a corrugated metal roof.

There are meaningful projects which churches and individuals can get involved with, ranging from several hundred dollars to $55,000 dollars.  By U.S. standards a small investment goes a long way.  We are asking individuals, small groups and churches to begin by partnering with a pastor/church planter or unreached village through prayer and watch to see what God can do.

Bodajugu has about 1700 residents and is primarily made up of the unreached Turka people.  They are Muslim, but also practice animism when seeking spiritual power.  Pastor Levi planted this church 1 1/2 years ago and he and his family were the only believers.  Through many trials and much ongoing spiritual warfare, they have persevered.  Now, there are 10 adult believers and about 25 children who attend.  Pastor Levi is excited for the community to see the church building as a place of prayer and worship and a sign of his longterm commitment to serving this village in the name of Jesus.

Light Up Burkina's vision is to see prayer and financial partnerships between churches and believers for the advancement of God's Kingdom in Jesus' name.  Visit our website Light Up Burkina, to learn more about what is happening in Burkina Faso, West Africa.  There are many villages still without a church.  There are many church planters struggling to persevere in extremely difficult villages.  There are many ways for us to come alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ as they endeavor to serve faithfully in one of the poorest nations on earth.

Your brother in Christ Jesus,
Aaron
