Moto for Pastor Levi

Pastor Levi (white shirt) receiving moto keys

This past Sunday we had the pleasure of presenting a new moto to Pastor Levi.  Pastor Levi and his family are church planters in Bodajugu.  Bodajugu is an unreached Turka village.  When he arrived there were literally no believers.  That was two years ago.  Today there is a small, but growing church in Bodajugu.  Pastor Levi has been borrowing a very old and fable  50cc moto from his father.  He has been praying for God to provide a reliable means of transportation for he and his family for several years.  As a result of partnership with a family from the US, God has answered pastor Levi's prayers.

What a joy to see God's perfect prevision coming through brothers and sisters in Christ.  For just $900 dollars U.S. we can help a pastor and his family by purchasing a new 125cc moto.  These motos are trustworthy and last 10+ years, often many more.  Partnering with Light Up Burkina to provide a moto for pastors and church planters is a very tangible way to show our fraternity and passion to see the unreached peoples of Burkina Faso reached for Christ.  Pastors with reliable transport can minister in their surrounding areas as they evangelize and preach the gospel.

We've had churches and individual families fund these motos and we have seen the blessing and encouragement they are to these men and their families.  Will you pray about partnering with us as a family, small group or church body to provide a pastor or church planter with a new moto?  Check out the Motos for Pastors page on Light Up Burkina under the Church Partnership tab.  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  There are always pastors praying and waiting for God to provide.

Your Brother in Christ Jesus,
Aaron

Burkina Faso Update

12/10/2015

Well after nearly three weeks since our last post, I can give everyone an update.  We have had an issue with connecting to the server/editor at our ministry website.  Finally, after many emails and a lot of fails at fixes something seems to have worked.  Praise God.  Technology is so amazing when it works and incredibly time consuming and frustrating when it doesn't.

First of all things have settled down from the coup of last month.  Some of the coup leaders are in custody and the military is looking for the rest.  The key figures are being held, pending a military trial for the death and destruction they caused during the week-long coup.  We are praising God that the destruction and loss of life was limited and that the coup didn't spark the kind of civil war that has plagued Africa for many years.

We are safe and have been back doing ministry in full swing.  God continues to faithfully guide us and open doors for church planting among the unreached.  Please continue to pray for Burkina Faso as we are in a very important time as we approach free and fair elections.  During the coup, the coup leaders invited foreign fighters and jihadists to come and support them as they saw they didn't have much, if any popular support.  Unfortunately, on Friday evening we heard that a group of 50 "jihadists" type fighters crossed into Burkina from Mali and attacked a Gendarme (Police) base several hours to the north of us.  One of the attackers was killed and four gendarmes as well as damage to their compound.

Please pray that God would spare Burkina from more of these attacks and that the interim government and standing military can thwart any such efforts moving forward.  As always Satan wants to steal, kill and destroy.  But God, has made us ministers of reconciliation, peace and love.  We covet your prayers as we lift up Burkina Faso and it's people before the throne of grace asking for peace and stability in Jesus' name.

Well, that's all for now.  I have lots to post about as God is moving and allowing us to play a small role in seeing His kingdom expanded here in Burkina Faso.

May God keep you and draw you closer to Himself,
Aaron
